La capital ten\u00eda los reflectores, la prensa, los reconocimientos. Pero algo ha estado pasando calladamente, constantemente y de forma imposible de ignorar al otro lado de la isla. Y el 2026 puede ser el a\u00f1o en que el resto de Puerto Rico, y el mundo, ya no pueda mirar para otro lado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-custom-lineheight wp-elements-b3c3c8471ac005e83581decd088c9f70\" style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\">Este a\u00f1o, los <a href=\"https:\/\/lazosdeoro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lazos de Oro de La Mafia<\/a> vieron doce nominaciones solamente del oeste de Puerto Rico. Para una regi\u00f3n que hist\u00f3ricamente ha luchado por reconocimiento dentro de la conversaci\u00f3n culinaria nacional, ese n\u00famero dice much\u00edsimo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px;text-transform:none\">Una Ola Que Viene de Todo el Oeste<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\" class=\"has-custom-lineheight\">Los nominados de este a\u00f1o en los <em>Lazos de Oro<\/em> representan una variedad de conceptos que deja claro cu\u00e1nto ha evolucionado la escena gastron\u00f3mica del oeste. Ya ha ganado dos veces el reconocimiento de <em>Lazos de Oro <\/em>fue uno de los cinco finalistas para el premio <em>Hospitalidad de Excelencia<\/em> de La Mafia y, por si fuera poco, tambi\u00e9n cuenta con una nominaci\u00f3n al James Beard Award, el reconocimiento culinario m\u00e1s prestigioso de Estados Unidos. Dos victorias. Una nominaci\u00f3n Beard. Desde Rinc\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\" class=\"has-custom-lineheight\">Pero Joerick r\u00e1pido pone ese momento en perspectiva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\" class=\"has-custom-lineheight\"><em>\u201cAhora los ojos est\u00e1n sobre nosotros. En el 2022, Mendoza fue semifinalista de los James Beard Awards en la categor\u00eda Best Chef: South. El Chef<strong> Josiah Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> lleva a\u00f1os construyendo algo genuinamente \u00fanico aqu\u00ed. Su concepto es una experiencia de alta cocina sostenible basada en ingredientes ancestrales puertorrique\u00f1os, filosof\u00eda farm to table y un compromiso con la sostenibilidad que le ha ganado reconocimiento internacional. Sus tasting menus nacen de un huerto org\u00e1nico en la propiedad y su cocina incorpora desde sal marina local hasta algas, con cada plato moldeado por lo que la tierra y el mar alrededor pueden ofrecer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\" class=\"has-custom-lineheight\">Los reconocimientos han llegado por m\u00e9rito propio. Chef's Garden se convirti\u00f3 en el primer restaurante certificado sostenible del Caribe por la <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n de Restaurantes Sostenibles<\/strong>, con base en Barcelona y actualmente cuenta con tres estrellas de excelencia de la <strong>Sustainable Restaurant Association<\/strong> en Londres. La <strong>Academia Iberoamericana de Gastronom\u00eda<\/strong> lo nombr\u00f3 el mejor restaurante sostenible del 2024. Adem\u00e1s, <strong><em>Country &amp; Town House<\/em><\/strong> recientemente destac\u00f3 a Josiah como gu\u00eda culinario local para comer en Puerto Rico, demostrando hasta d\u00f3nde ya llega su nombre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\" class=\"has-custom-lineheight\">Un reconocimiento de Chef's Garden en Lazos de Oro reconoce a un restaurante que lleva a\u00f1os redefiniendo silenciosamente c\u00f3mo puede verse la gastronom\u00eda en esta isla, y haci\u00e9ndolo desde Rinc\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px;text-transform:none\">El Festival Que Siempre Ha Estado Aqu\u00ed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-custom-lineheight wp-elements-a6f28740784ad1fd222aac9034e79a14\" style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\">Si quieres entender c\u00f3mo el oeste lleg\u00f3 hasta aqu\u00ed, hay que mirar al <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gastronomicoportadelsol.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Festival Gastron\u00f3mico Porta del Sol<\/a> <\/strong>en Mayag\u00fcez. Esta celebraci\u00f3n anual de comida, bebida y competencia culinaria ha servido por a\u00f1os como plataforma y terreno de prueba para el talento gastron\u00f3mico del oeste. Es donde chefs compiten, conectan y descubren realmente de qu\u00e9 est\u00e1n hechos. Y fue all\u00ed donde el Chef <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/whatsuprincon.com\/es\/getting-to-know-jesus-feliciano\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jes\u00fas Feliciano<\/a><\/strong> obtuvo segundo lugar en el 2025, un resultado que ayudar\u00eda a definir la pr\u00f3xima etapa de su carrera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px;text-transform:none\">Jes\u00fas Feliciano: Cocinando Desde la Tierra<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-transform:none;line-height:1.65\" class=\"has-custom-lineheight\">Este chef aguade\u00f1o resume toda su filosof\u00eda en un momento al que siempre vuelve. Mientras observaba un plato del que se sent\u00eda orgulloso en Porta del Sol 2025, entendi\u00f3 que el cr\u00e9dito no era solamente suyo. Nombrado en honor a su madre, el men\u00fa de Alma lleva a los comensales por un viaje global rotativo: escargots, ropa vieja de pato, pelmeni siberiano, bulgogi coreano.
