Celebrate Hope: Standing Together for a Cause
As we wrap up our initiatives, Drink Pink and Think Pink, we invite you to join us this Friday to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention. It is a chance to honor everyone who participated, and those who have bravely fought the battle. This celebration is a tribute to the strength of our community and those who have fought against breast cancer.
Breast cancer is a significant health concern that affects countless individuals and families. Early detection through regular screenings, like mammograms, can dramatically improve outcomes. Awareness is crucial! It empowers individuals to take charge of their health and fosters conversations that can lead to better understanding and support for those affected.
What to expect:
This Friday, the Mayagüez Medical Center Hospital will have a tent in the plaza starting at 4:00 p.m. They will be there to offer guidance on breast cancer prevention and provide referrals for mammograms. In addition, Dr. Laura Figueroa, a Radiologist specializing in breast imaging, will be there to share her knowledge and answer questions.
As part of the festivities, we’ll have a Fountain of Hope, where you can write the names of survivors or loved ones lost to breast cancer, honoring their memory and inspiring hope.
Enjoy music from our host, DJ Mouse and a live performance by TWINFIN, and don’t miss our Pink Route! Participating restaurants will donate $1 for each pink drink sold. Those who purchase a pink drink will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses. You can also purchase raffle tickets at our table in the plaza.
Let’s come together to celebrate the resilience of survivors and honor those who have fought this battle. Help us to strengthen our community’s commitment to health and hope.
