Aguadilla Expects Thousands of Visitors and a Multimillion-Dollar Economic Impact
Beyond the musical performances, the San Carlos Festival is also an opportunity to boost tourism and support local businesses. According to projections from Aguadilla’s Office of Tourism, Arts and Culture (OTACA), the municipality expects approximately 48,000 visitors over the four-day celebration, a 20% increase compared to last year’s edition.
The municipality estimates that the event could generate at least $2.5 million in direct economic impact for local hotels and accommodations, restaurants, retailers, and other businesses.
As part of this initiative, local artisans, food vendors, merchants, and entrepreneurs will have opportunities to showcase and sell their products and services.
The municipality also estimates that more than 10,000 visitors will stay overnight in Aguadilla or nearby towns during the weekend, creating additional opportunities for visitors to explore the western region of Puerto Rico.
An Opportunity to Explore Aguadilla
Visitors are encouraged to make the most of their trip by discovering everything Aguadilla has to offer, including its beaches, local cuisine, historic landmarks, natural attractions, and small businesses.
The San Carlos Festival is part of a broader effort to connect cultural celebrations with tourism and economic development, encouraging visitors to stay longer, explore the destination, and return throughout the year.
