Finca La Promesa: Where Land, Family, and the Table Come Together

Finca La Promesa was not created as a restaurant or an event venue. It began as a family idea and, over time, evolved into a space meant for sharing. As co-owner Nathalia López explains:

“We felt a mix of emotions when acquiring the land. There was grace and blessing in how the entire process unfolded, along with some uncertainty about the challenges ahead.”

What started as a family housing project is now a nearly seven-cuerda farm open to the public, with a clear intention: to celebrate Puerto Rican culture from its essence. Here, the experience goes beyond the plate. It’s about sitting at the table, taking in the surroundings, listening to music, sharing conversation, and reconnecting with who we are.

A Family-Led, Multidisciplinary Project

  • Manolo López, an internationally trained chef, brings his culinary vision to life through menus that honor local ingredients and shareable cooking.
  • Nathalia López, a designer, shapes the space’s aesthetics, identity, and visual character.
  • Orlando Cajigas, engineer and designer, ensures the spaces function seamlessly and harmonize with the natural environment.

“At La Promesa, I work with passion in everything I touch—design, material selection, décor, management, and guest experience. We also rely on an essential team, from construction to events, that makes our vision possible,” Nathalia shares.

A Living Space: Intimacy and Community

Finca La Promesa blends public and private areas. One portion is dedicated to gastronomy, events, and recreational activities. Yet another remains private, reflecting the balance between intimacy and community.

“It was moments of calm, peace, and spiritual connection with ourselves, our family, and friends that guided us to share this space with others,” Nathalia adds.

Mesa Promesa: A Piece of Puerto Rican Culture

“Mesa Promesa represents a piece of Puerto Rican culture within a family-centered space, where food and music are the driving forces of connection,” Nathalia explains.

The Value of Rincón and Puerto Rico’s West Coast

For the Finca La Promesa team, Rincón is more than home. It’s a symbol of Puerto Rico’s west coast they want to share with locals and visitors alike.

“Beyond Mesa Promesa, Finca La Promesa is our place to gather with family and friends, celebrate birthdays, weddings, corporate events, and all kinds of experiences that reflect our culture,” Nathalia adds.

A Complete Sensory Experience

The design integrates the surrounding nature, using materials that blend into the environment. Visitors enjoy lush greenery, flowing breezes, and birdsong, while gastronomy, music, and community come together organically.

“Our goal is for everyone who visits Finca La Promesa to feel love, family, and connection,” Nathalia concludes.
