Norman’s Salty Vibes

If you’ve strolled through the Thursday night gallery walks at Rincón Municipality’s Plaza Pública (locally known as Art Walk), you’ve likely been captivated by Salty Vibes’ creations.

Behind Salty Vibes is Norman Lee Pérez, a native and resident of Mayagüez. This young artisan specializes in crafting jewelry from marine debris. Among the earrings, bracelets, and necklaces he creates, you’ll find shells, sea glass, and freshwater pearls transformed into wearable art. Notably, Norman has been participating in the Art Walk since 2020.

When he’s not creating or selling his pieces, he spends his time on the beaches and rivers of the West area, where he has been surfing since 2015. His other hobbies include going to the movies and gardening. Furthermore, Norman has been gardening for years. He is proud that part of his diet comes from his harvest, a skill he learned from his grandparents.

When asked about the vision and inspiration behind his craftsmanship, he says, “My pieces are inspired by the places I frequently visit, places that bring me peace and where nature is always present. They are pieces you can wear daily or even for a wedding, as they are crafted in gold-plated settings.”

To acquire one of his artworks, you can visit Salty Vibes’ booth on Thursdays at the Rincón Plaza. You can also visit one of his social media platforms:
